MLSE & UBER ENTER FIRST-OF-ITS KIND PARTNERSHIP

TORONTO, ON — Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) and Uber announced today they are partnering to elevate the game-day experience for Torontonians and fans around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The three-year partnership names Uber as the official ride sharing app and Uber Eats as the official meal delivery app of all MLSE teams, which include the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts. Additionally, the partnership makes Uber the exclusive rideshare provider to Scotiabank Arena and BMO Field.

Spanning across all four of MLSE’s major league Toronto sports teams, the partnership offers Uber a new and unique way to connect with Toronto sports fans in diverse communities across the GTA. With teams across multiple sports, partnership campaigns will run year-round during the NHL, NBA, MLS and CFL seasons. This is the first time Uber and Uber Eats have collaborated on a partnership, working together to bring convenience to Torontonians.

“Partnering with Toronto’s favourite sports teams reinforces our commitment to bringing ridesharing and meal delivery to sports fans everywhere in this great city,” said Rob Khazzam, General Manager, Uber Canada. “Ninety-nine percent of Raptors and Leafs fans commute in from across the GTA for game night so we want to make that experience seamless. And for those fans who cheer on the team from home, we can make that experience more enjoyable too by delivering fan-favourite menu items. We look forward to being part of one of North America’s most exciting sports market for years to come.”

Uber elevates the gameday experience in Toronto by bringing fans to stadiums, sports bars or a friend’s house to watch the game. For fans watching their team from home, Uber Eats delivers whatever the team is craving, so there’s no risk of missing a goal, three-pointer, free kick or touchdown. We see delivery spikes on game nights across the city with burgers, chicken tenders and pad thai being the most-ordered items.

“Enhancing the experience for all of our fans is a top priority for MLSE and we value the opportunity to work with our partners, like Uber, to deliver on that goal,” Said Jeff Deline, Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships, MLSE. “We look forward to creating an innovative program with Uber to help make our fans’ experience, whether it’s coming to the game or watching at home, a winning one.”
